Elisabeth Hasselbeck has a baby boy

87830401.jpg

Elizabeth Hasselbeck gave birth to a son yesterday morning in Arizona. Apparently the baby came out wrapped in an American flag and a “Bush Forever” bumper sticker on his butt. No word of if that was meant as a political statement or some type of celebration of his birth canal journey.

Tim and Elisabeth Hasselbeck are the proud new parents of a boy, ABC.com reports. The View cohost gave birth to a 7-lb. 15-oz. boy Friday morning at an Arizona hospital. Hasselbeck plans to call into the show Monday to announce her son’s name. The baby joins big sister Grace, who is 2.

“We’re thrilled he arrived safely,” Tim Hasselbeck said in a statement. “Both mom and son are happy and healthy. The View cohost, 30, and her NFL quarterback husband, 29, moved to Arizona in October, after he signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

The move brought early maternity leave for Elisabeth, who has pledged to return to the ABC morning talk show. When she had Grace, she took a total of six weeks off.

[From People]

In other news, the baby has already issued a statement saying that he’s pro-war, pro-life, and anti-Rosie O’Donnell. But then he found out the she sent him this lovely Lulla Smith white silk Moses basket for $290 from Petit Trsor and all was forgiven. Because let’s be honest, he’s a baby - and already a fanatical Republican one would assume - but he’s also the child of a celebrity, which means all things can be glossed over with various forms of swag.

Just four days before she gave birth, Elizabeth launched a baby blog on Dreft’s website. Dreft being that expensive, unscented detergent that’s supposed to be really good for babies but is pretty much the same thing as the $1.39 unscented detergent Target sells. Yeah I don’t really know why either. Something makes me doubt she’ll be competing with Rosie’s blog and publishing a lot of confusing haikus. Instead, she’ll pimp her baby for what I’m guessing is a little cash and a lot of free detergent.

Elisabeth promises “12 personal stories recounting her experiences and emotions both before and after the birth of her second child, due later this month, along with photos of the new baby.” The first entry on the sponsored blog includes a (surprise!) reference to the thrill of providing clean sheets for her two-year-old daughter:

Then came the irrational pregnant woman impulses of ordering twin sheets online for her new bed like mad! Everyday a package of bedding supplies would come. This past week, her new bed arrived bit-by-bit first the mattress”then the bed! We washed it all and got it ready like a big present for her when she came home after a class. When she walked into the room she said: “OH MY GOODNESS!!!” and ran into it.

[From E! News]

Wow. Well I’m sure it’s all written from the heart and by heart, I mean Dreft’s PR team. Congrats to the happy parents. I will send you some American flag bibs, pronto.

A Little Bit Country a Lot Glam on the CMA Red Carpet

It was jeans for some (Kid Rock, of course) and gowns for others at last nights 41st Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. Nicole Kidman definitely brought the most bang to the red carpet in her bold dress ” sure it looks a little like one of those cheesy college dorm felt-y posters, but its not like she cant pull it off. Carrie Underwood looked typically great while fellow former Idol-er Kellie Picker looked surprisingly demure for her. I must admit that Kate Walsh looked pretty smokin, finding a way to be on our ABC Wednesday night even when Private Practice was preempted for these awards. Fab wants to know what you think about all the red carpet looks ” check out her love it or hate its. Meanwhile, Bellas all interested in what you think about everyones beauty, so check her polls out here. More on the show later, but check out the full list of winners here.

To see the rest of the red carpet including Gretchen Wilson, Jewel, Michelle Branch, Sarah Evans, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler and lots, lots more just

Rosie ODonnell to join MSNBC

top-jtm-026320.jpg

Rosie O’Donnell’s last gig at “The View” didn’t exactly last a long time - nine months was about all she could take. Though as many who worked with her reported, it was about all anyone else could take of her, too. The opinionated comedian/actress/TV host clashed both on and off screen with many people she worked with - and supposedly not just over her political opinions. She was generally considered to be a bit of a self-righteous diva, and clashed with Barbara Walters over her behavior on several occasions. Current rumblings have O’Donnell considering signing a deal with prestigious MSNBC for her own show, which would go head to head with CNN’s “Larry King Live” and Fox’s “Hannity & Colmes.” That’s some pretty serious competition.

Even though much is being made of MSNBC’s ”left-leaning” slant in its nighttime programming, thanks to the constant President Bush-bashing from Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Dan Abrams, a few network insiders say the expected signing of Rosie O’Donnell by the cable network has even some staunch liberals at MSNBC a bit worried.

O’Donnell’s ”loose cannon” reputation, reinforced during her nine-month stint on ”The View,” apparently is a key stumbling block as the comedian-turned-TV talker negotiates with the network. Showcasing alternative political viewpoints to the conservative opinions espoused by Fox News has helped boost MSNBC’s recent ratings, ”but we still get nervous when we think about Rosie,” an MSNBC source told me Tuesday.

Yet, given the big ratings boost O’Donnell gave to ”The View” during her tenure there, MSNBC is definitely interested in snaring her, the source said, ”as long as we have certain controls in place.” As for O’Donnell, a source close to her says the outspoken personality thinks it’s all pretty moot. ”Everyone in America knows where I stand as a liberal Democrat who can’t stand the fact George Bush is president,” the O’Donnell friend quotes her as saying about the MSNBC gig.

[From the Chicago Sun Times]

There’s no official word on what kind of show O’Donnell would have; mostly news, interview, celebrity, political, etc. I’d think a mix, though much is being made of her celebrity connections. Certainly she could beat Larry King, who’s been out of the game for years. His show is generally good for humor’s sake, though that’s not what he presumably intended. O’Donnell would likely be good for ratings, and she’s certainly been known to stir up a controversy or two. I would hope that she’d be able to rise above some of the petty squabbles of the past if she wants to be taken seriously and have a show that will make a real impact.

Glamour Celebrates Its Fabulous Women of the Year

Glamour’s Women of the Year 2007 came together at NYC’s Lincoln Center last night to celebrate each other. Jennifer Connelly’s dress was a fabulous color while the first ever Girl of the Year, Abigail Breslin’s looked perfectly appropriate. Mariah performed for the big event while some of TV’s finest doctors, Taye and Eric Dane (and Chief), were among the men out to honor all these fabulous ladies. The issue’s cover girl Jennifer Garner celebrated her night off from Broadway and pulled off a dress that most women could not, but didn’t walk the red carpet with Ben. In the magazine Jennifer talks about why that is. She said:

We’ve worked really hard not to be one of those couples who are constantly in the limelight. In the past we’ve both been the kind of people who go along with things”if you’re supposed to be photographed together, you don’t question it. But how does that help your relationship So now we refuse to walk the red carpet together: It’s a way of not condoning the attention. Plus, it just feels silly to be in that situation with him: Ben was nominated for a Golden Globe [for 2006’s Hollywoodland]. I remember being photographed next to him and thinking, This is ridiculous. You’re not some actor; you’re my husband.

While I fully appreciate her persepective, I can admit that I would love to see them walk together every once in a while. Even (or as it turns out, especially) without, they’re certainly one of the cutest and most real marriages in Hollywood. A big big congrats to all the wonderful and inspiring women both winning the honors and attending the event last night. Claps, claps.

To see all the other attendees from the event, including an adorably dressed Abigail Breslin, Brooke Shields, Keri Washington, Hugh Dancy, Claire Danes, Diane Sawyer, Rashida Jones, Portia de Rossi and many many more just

Ladies Go Black and Gold for the ACE Awards

Last night the ladies got glam for the 11th Annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards in NYC. The ACE awards were given to a variety of designers and a few lucky actresses including Mandy Moore who won the Fashion Innovator award. Mandy looked fabulous with her brunette hair and simple sexy black dress. Jessica Simpson was looking amazing in her skin tight leopard print dress to present to the CEO of Macy’s. Poor Deborah Norville made the unfortunate mistake of wearing the same dress as Jess - I would hate to be on that who wore it better poll. Lucy Liu wore one of the more adventurous dresses even if it was black. She was there to accept an award on behalf of Valentino. Heidi Klum looked great and golden but I didn’t even recognize her at first glance. The model, host and jewelry designer was awarded the Fashion Influencer Award.

Lots more images of the girls including a gorgeous Keri Washington who was there to present to Tory Burch and Nina Garcia who presented to Heidi so just

Reese and Deacon Play in the Surf

Reese and Deacon looked adorable frolicking around on the beach in Malibu this weekend. It might have been a little too chilly for swimming, but Reese proved that she can give as good a shoulder ride as any man. We’ve been eating up all the attention on Reese and Jake lately, but the pictures with her #1 little man will always be our favorites. It’s just another reason why we’re excited for the arrival of our newest site, LilSugar!

Beowulf Hits LA, Bringing Out the Stars

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt looked typically wax figure-esque out at last night’s LA premiere of Beowulf. Angelina may have been shy about watching her computer generated body on the big screen, but she was full of smiles on the red carpet keeping herself covered in her coat while Brad opted for his requisite hat. Elsewhere on the red carpet Anthony Hopkins did his best Jack Nicholson impersonation while John Malkovich was generally cool in his yellow/green coat. Robin Wright Penn was looking good, too, but kind of unrecognizable, right The movie doesn’t hit screens until November 16th and I still can’t decide whether it’ll be worth a visit to the theater. How about you, on the edge of your seat excited or not so much

To see the rest of the premiere including an oddly unrecognizable Robin Wright Penn, Crispin Glover Nicollette Sheridan, plus a lot more Angelina and Brad and many others just
